Phoenix Clog held their second AGM last night, looking back on a successful first year of dancing out and forward to an even better year in 2012. Dave Anders, Chris Anders & David Edwards, were all returned unopposed to their respective positions of Squire, Bagman & Foreman and five new members were formally welcomed into the Side. It was also agreed to support TeamMax, who campaign on behalf of "Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy" (SUDEP) as our main charity for the coming year. |

Phoenix Clog danced their last stand of the season in the dark, but appropriately enough at the Jolly Coopers, Epsom, where earlier in the year we danced out as a Side for our very first Pub stand. We danced on what was near enough the 2nd Anniversary of our first ever practice night, back in September 2009. Tonight we danced with Pennyroyal Clog Dancers as our guests, reciprocating the evening we danced out as their guests at the beginning of the Summer. Once again we danced on the pub forecourt, to small but appreciative audience and as it turned out, were an unusual prelude to the rock band that was booked later in the evening. |

Phoenix Clog finished there first season of dancing out at the Boughton Monchelsea Morris Annual Picnic, at the Swan-on-the-Green, West Peckham, Kent. Including their hosts, there were a dozen different Sides attending, with styles ranging through Cotswold, Border and Clog-stepping, as well as North West Morris. The weather it's true was not kind and on a couple of occasions we had to flee heavy downpours, with the hardy amongst us taking shelter under trees and umbrellas, while others sought refuge in the pub, but this did nothing to dampen the spririts and the dancing continued between the showers. All in all a good day, with us ending the season on a high. |

On Wednesday June 26th Phoenix Clog danced at the Bell (a.k.a. The Rat) in Walton-on-the-Hill, with Off-Spring Morris as their guests. The Bell is a small, friendly local pub, hidden away at the end of a dirt track next to the pond in Walton-on-the-Hill, where we danced to an enthusiastic crowd, who came not only from the pub, but also from the surrounding cottages to watch the dancing and join in with the evening. We finished the evening by teaching a rudimentary dance those brave enough to leave the security of the crowd and venture into the set. |

On Tuesday 21st June, as guests of "WIP the Ploughboy", Phoenix Clog danced at the Plough, in St. John's, Redhill, to an enthusiastic crowd. We danced from 8:00 until 9:00, taking turn-and-turnabout with WIP, also adding a solo Lancashire step-dance to our programme and joining WIP in a massed "Saturday Night", Bucknall, to finish. Not an easy task in clogs. The pub landlord was truly welcoming, laying on a spread of sandwiches, sausages & chips, to go with his excellent beer. |
