Welcome to the Phoenix Clog web-site

Phoenix Clog are a mixed Morris Side, based near Epsom, in Surrey, who welcome both men & women members and who dance North West Morris. In this style of Morris Dancing the dancers wear clogs, for the dances have their origin in the Lancashire & Cheshire areas of North West England and date from a time when clogs were normal footwear. The percussive sound of the clogs striking the ground, adds a distinctive cadence to this style of Morris dancing.

Although Phoenix Clog are based in the Epsom area of Surrey, during the Winter months we practice in nearby West Ewell. However, in Spring and Summer we dance out at numerous spots throughout Surrey and neighbouring areas.
